Local fans of American television series 24 can enjoy an African twist to the adventures of Agent Jack Bauer as the cast and crew set up camp for a 2-hour action-packed movie to be shot on location in South Africa.

As head of the Counter Terrorist Unit of the US Government, Bauer's objective is to protect his president and the nation from terrorist threats.
The movie, which will be a prequel to season seven, sees Bauer battle an international crisis in Africa, while back in the US, the nation prepares for a new president on inauguration day.
"Shooting in South Africa affirms everyone's commitment to making this season especially memorable for our fans," says executive producer Howard Gordon.
"We're excited about the prequel because it explores Jack's complex emotional state of mind and still has all the signature excitement and suspense that fans have come to expect from 24," he adds.
Filming is set to begin in Cape Town close to the V&A Waterfront. Local actors will make guest appearances in smaller roles.
