Charitable madness of 15,000 active citizens to hit Cape Town, December 1

As they say in the popular Twilight Saga: in the half-light of day – the madness begins. And it’s no different in Cape Town on Tuesday, 1 December when a charitable madness of active citizens lets loose in the 33rd Twilight Festival.

Some run, some walk and a few skateboard. Some do it in teams, some alone – but the Twilight Run/ Walk will unite more than 15 000 active citizens with all funds going to the Community Chest’s educational sector.  And you get to choose how you’d like your event fee used –to purchase school bags, shoes, stationery starter-kits and other materials to ensure learners are properly equipped to start the school year.

That’s what the Community Chest stands for – active citizenship – making meaningful and sustainable change within our communities.

“This year the theme is “Uniting the City’s Active Citizens” as we unite the city for charity,” shares Lorenzo Davids, CEO of Community Chest.  “It also emphasises our commitment to serving all our communities.”

Jimmy Nevis and X-Factor winner, Four will keep the runners moving after the finish line as the Twilight Festival kicks in.
