Court Prohibits EFF & Malema from Inciting Public to Vandalise or Remove Statues

The Solidarity Movement today obtained an urgent interdict prohibiting the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and its leadership from further inciting the public to vandalise or remove any statues in the country.

The court order specifically prohibits EFF leader, Julius Malema, the party’s national spokesperson, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi, and the party’s deputy chair in Tshwane, Moafrika Mabongwana, to further incite any of the party’s members or supporters to deface, vandalise or remove any national monument or statue in South Africa.

Kruger says the Solidarity Movement will keep a close eye on the EFF leadership and, should they not comply with the court order, the movement will bring an application for contempt of court against the party.
