With school being on holiday, it doesn’t mean children cannot engage in fun activities. Lekgathus owner Mr. Philip Mogopodi recently organised a winter school program hosted at Kagiso in the Chief Mogale gravel ground Park, 30 June 2023
Residents of Kagiso made use of their free time at the start of the winter school holidays when they held a program for the youth.
The purpose of the holiday school program was to encourage young people to make use of their time by being productive and also active, so often sitting around inevitable results in the temptation of inappropriate behaviour during the holidays. Different youth from parts of Mogale city came to engage with other youth in sport, team work, character building , and working together. If energy is directed in the right direction, kids end up in the right places and hopefully wanting to do more.
As the owner of Lekgathu catering business Mr. Philip Mogopodi said, “it’s important for parents to allow their children be part of such holiday program so they can learn more and gain experience in the field of sports and engage in indigenous games. It is educational and motivational and the right thing to do.

Many children of Kagiso all flocked to the sports gravel ground to participate in these fun activities of netball, soccer and traditional games such as dibeke.
At the end of the program, children were served with luncheon.
